Piyush Goyal, Head of Distribution at JioStar, has outlined his vision for the future of television, emphasising the continued relevance of linear TV while highlighting the industry’s shift towards multi-platform content delivery.
Speaking on Distribution Day, Goyal said linear television continues to remain India’s most powerful engine of shared viewing, bringing families and communities together in a way no other medium can. He stressed that despite evolving market dynamics, the medium still plays a central role in shaping collective entertainment experiences across the country.
Highlighting the ongoing transformation in the broadcasting ecosystem, he said the industry is moving beyond the traditional “One Screen, One Pipe” model towards an “Any Screen, Any Pipe” approach. According to him, this shift is aimed at extending the strength of linear television across multiple platforms and enabling audiences to access content seamlessly across devices.
Goyal further noted that the changing landscape requires unified, technology-led distribution architecture and stronger partnerships within the ecosystem. He emphasised the need for seamless access across every screen while ensuring that value creation and content reach remain protected.
He added that JioStar looks forward to working with partners to reimagine the distribution of linear television and drive the next phase of growth for the industry, positioning the sector for a more connected and accessible future.
