Hungama OTT is set to expand its original content slate with ‘Vinny Ki Kitaab’, a six-episode drama series that will begin streaming from December 11, 2025. The series stars Aalisha Panwar in the lead role, alongside Abhishek Kapoor, Sanjay Gagnani, Mansi Jain and Afreen Alvi, and promises a layered narrative that explores desire, dignity and selfhood.

According to a press release issued by Hungama OTT, ‘Vinny Ki Kitaab’ is set against the serene backdrop of Kasol and follows the life of Vinny, a quiet small-town woman who pours her deepest fantasies and emotions into a private journal. What begins as a personal act of expression soon spirals into a crisis when her most intimate thoughts are exposed in ways she never intended, forcing her to confront the consequences of being seen and judged.

At the heart of the story is Vinny’s life-altering choice: whether to remain silent or rise and reclaim control over her own narrative. Caught between desire and dignity, shame and strength, her journey becomes one of self-discovery as she challenges societal judgments and begins to redefine who she is and who gets to tell her story.

Sanjeev Lamba, Executive Producer, Hungama Digital Media, said the series reflects lives that often remain unseen. “Vinny Ki Kitaab stands out because it holds a mirror to lives that are often overlooked. Many women carry entire universes within them. This series gives space to that inner world and to the choices that come with it,” he said.

Aalisha Panwar, who essays the titular character, described Vinny as one of the most demanding roles of her career. “On the surface, she’s silent and restrained, but inside is a storm of emotions and conflicts. Portraying her silence, her strength and her rebellion pushed me as an actor in the most rewarding way,” she said.

Abhishek Kapoor, who plays Vinny’s husband Navneet Nautiyal, said the series draws its power from emotional depth. “What sets this series apart is how it reveals that the quietest lives often hold the loudest battles. Exploring the emotional complexity of their relationship was incredibly compelling for me,” he noted.

Mansi Jain, who portrays the antagonist Sarla, said her character’s betrayal becomes the turning point of the story. “She manipulates Vinny into getting her diary published through her own husband. While I would never justify her actions in real life, portraying this conflict was intense and dramatically powerful,” she said.

Sanjay Gagnani, who plays the publisher, said the show moves away from predictable storytelling. “The series dives into human flaws, ambition and consequences. Every character carries shades of grey, making the story raw, real and riveting,” he added.

Afreen Alvi said the narrative resonated deeply with her. “The story highlights the unspoken struggles many women endure behind closed doors and addresses desire, dignity and choice without judgment,” she said.

Through nuanced storytelling and bold themes, ‘Vinny Ki Kitaab’ offers a powerful reflection of women whose lives may appear quiet on the surface but hold entire universes within them.
