Amazon Prime Video’s content slate for Prime Day 2025 has struck gold both at home and globally, drawing viewers from over 224 countries and territories, as well as more than 4,400 cities and towns across India, the company said.
With 17 new Indian and international titles launched in the lead-up to the mega shopping event on July 12-14, the streamer delivered a robust entertainment experience that captured the attention of diverse audiences.
According to a press release issued by Prime Video, the line-up featured a mix of highly anticipated original series and films across languages. Headlining the list was ‘Panchayat Season 4’, which delivered the franchise’s biggest opening yet — streamed across 180+ countries and territories and watched in 95 percent of India’s pin codes during launch week.
Other major Indian releases included the unscripted thriller ‘The Traitors’ and Telugu film ‘Uppu Kappurambu’. International titles such as ‘Heads of State’, starring Priyanka Chopra, Idris Elba and John Cena, further amplified viewership, along with global offerings from Japan, Korea and the US.
Prime Video’s Indian slate resonated globally, with ‘Panchayat S4’ making it to the Top 10 Trending list in over 42 countries on day one. Meanwhile, ‘The Traitors’ captured audiences across 88 percent of India’s pin codes, proving the appetite for gripping reality content. The streamer also confirmed that both ‘Panchayat’ S5 and ‘The Traitors’ S2 are currently in development, with the next instalments slated for 2026.
Commenting on the overwhelming response, Shilangi Mukherji, Director and Head of SVOD Business at Prime Video India, said: “Through our spectacular content line-up, we delivered one of the most engaging experiences for our customers this Prime Day. While our content resonated deeply and strongly across India, the exceptional response from global audiences to our Indian titles demonstrates the growing influence of Indian entertainment on the world stage.”
Alongside regional hits, international titles made a strong mark with Indian viewers as well, the streamer maintained, adding growing availability of subtitles and dubbing in Indian languages made shows like ‘Good Boy’ and ‘Head Over Heels’ (Korean), ‘City and the Animation’ (Japanese), and Western dramas including ‘Ballard’, ‘Dexter: Resurrections’ and ‘Deep Cover’, finding significant traction.
Prime Video reported that viewership for global titles came from over 95 percent of India’s pin codes, reinforcing its commitment to a truly borderless entertainment experience.
