In a landmark move set to redefine the Indian music landscape, Sony Music India has joined hands with global entertainment powerhouse The Hello Group (THG) to announce the launch of THG India, a joint venture focused on artist development, global touring, and management.
According to an official press release issued by the companies, this collaboration marks one of the most significant international partnerships in the Indian music industry to date. THG India will combine Sony Music India’s strong local presence and deep-rooted industry knowledge with THG’s international clout in live touring, publishing, and artist development, creating a robust framework for Indian talent to shine on the global stage.
“This is a great moment for the Indian music industry and its vibrant creative community,” said Vinit Thakkar, Managing Director, Sony Music India. “THG India marks our first international collaboration of this scale right here in India, and it serves as a critical bridge. By combining THG’s strength in global live touring and their international network with our deep local expertise, we are strategically empowering Indian artists with the resources, seasoned management, and global network essential to truly accelerate their careers and resonate on the international stage.”
Taylor Jones, CEO of The Hello Group, echoed this vision, stating, “The Indian music scene boasts an incredible wealth of talent, and its global influence is undeniable. THG India reinforces our deep commitment to building a robust platform for these artists, underpinned by our extensive experience in live touring, artist development and publishing. With our dedicated team in Mumbai and our proven track record of orchestrating worldwide tours for top-tier artists, we are uniquely poised to amplify India’s voices like never before.”
The venture aims to fill the crucial gap in India’s music ecosystem, particularly in high-quality artist management and global live touring support. THG India will serve as an integrated platform providing end-to-end services — from bookings and management to publishing — giving Indian artists access to a proven international infrastructure previously unavailable in the region.
Sony Music India will provide strategic investments and open access to its creative and commercial platforms, giving artists both reach and resources. Meanwhile, THG’s publishing arm — administered by Sony Music Publishing — brings an impressive global track record, with more than 50 Billboard #1 chart results and several platinum hits across Asia, having worked with artists like BTS, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, TWICE, NCT 127, and many others.
Their booking division has also organized major tours across the world for an eclectic mix of talent including Jeff Satur, Greyson Chance, Kang Daniel, and I.M of MONSTA X, among others.
The formation of THG India reinforces Sony Music India’s commitment to investing in local talent and shaping the creative economy of India and South Asia. It provides a first-of-its-kind opportunity for regional artists to break through globally, supported by world-class management and strategic platforms that match international standards.
