With the curtains falling on the IPL 2025 season and prime-time viewership up for grabs, COLORS is making a calculated move to capture audience attention with its upcoming supernatural drama ‘Noyontara’.
The new show is set to premiere on June 9 and will air daily at 8.30pm. Described by the channel as a “game-changer”, ‘Noyontara’ stars Shruti Bhist in the titular role, alongside Arjun Chakrabarty and Narayani Shastri in pivotal characters.
According to a UNI report, ‘Noyontara’ delves into the life of a 23-year-old ghost-whisperer who has always been viewed as an outsider for her rare ability. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she marries Dr. Surjo, a rational, science-minded man haunted by his own past. The story unfolds as she steps into his family mansion, Pari Mahal — a place steeped in secrets and shadowed by ancestral greed.
In this atmospheric thriller, ‘Noyontara’ is aided by a quirky ghost named Hasiram as she navigates through eerie events, cryptic family dynamics, and the presence of two women — Lata and Lalita both claiming to be her mother-in-law. One implores her to save her son, while the other appears to have a hidden, possibly sinister, agenda. As the lines between ally and adversary blur, Noyontara must rely on her gift and instincts to survive the supernatural and the emotional storms brewing within her new home.
Speaking about the role, Shruti Bhist shared, “It’s an exciting challenge to spearhead Noyontara, a supernatural thriller set in a world where the living are shrouded in secrets and the dead aren’t always what they seem. My character is not a damsel in distress — she’s a fighter, a saviour, someone who embraces her gift while navigating the fragile line between life and death.”
For Narayani Shastri, this marks her debut collaboration with COLORS, and she steps into a dual role with sharp contrasts. “The stark difference between the two characters — one driven by love, the other by manipulation — is what pulled me in. Amidst all the mysticism, the show taps into very real emotional conflicts,” she said.
Arjun Chakrabarty, who will be making his Hindi television debut with the show, called it the perfect entry. “Surjo is a man of science, holding on to logic while avoiding emotional truths. Marrying Noyontara forces him to confront parts of himself he had buried long ago. That inner turmoil — more than the paranormal — is what makes this character compelling for me,” Chakrabarty explained.
With a unique blend of suspense, emotion, and mysticism, ‘Noyontara’ is poised to appeal to viewers looking for more than just traditional drama. COLORS is banking on the show’s atmospheric storytelling and layered characters to hold the prime-time audience following the cricket season’s end.
‘Noyontara’ premieres June 9 and will air every evening at 8.30 pm only on COLORS.
