Toonz Media Group and Gummybear International Inc. have named United Smile as the official global master toy licensee for the wildly popular franchise, Gummibär and Friends.
Under this partnership, United Smile will roll out a wide range of merchandise, from figurines and plush toys to themed playsets, aimed at millions of Gummibär fans worldwide. The toys are expected to hit shelves starting July 2024, promising to capture the essence of the beloved green gummy bear and his quirky friends, Toonz Media stated in a press release.
With over 30 billion views on YouTube and the global success of its two animated seasons, Gummibär and Friends has become a household name. Its viral hit, “I’m a Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear Song)”, has earned Gold and Platinum certifications and was once the No.1 ringtone in the USA for an entire year.
P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, expressed his excitement: “The popularity of Gummibär is beyond comparison. United Smile’s creative vision aligns perfectly with the brand, and we’re confident that fans will love the new range of toys.”
Jürgen Korduletsch, President of Gummybear International, added, “We’re excited to team up with United Smile to bring fun, innovative toys to Gummibär fans around the world. This partnership opens up new opportunities to further grow the brand globally.”
Echoing the enthusiasm, Josue Rosenzweig, CEO of United Smile, shared, “Gummibär is a unique character with a massive following. Our goal is to develop a playful and diverse product line that truly reflects the character’s personality, ensuring it resonates with kids everywhere.”
The upcoming toy line will feature characters from the show, including Gummibär, the adventurous green gummy bear; Harry, a science-loving chameleon; Kala, a martial arts expert Cerval cat; and their colorful crew of friends and rivals.
With this licensing deal, fans can expect an expanded Gummibär universe, bringing the charm of the show from screens into their homes.
