Instagram has announced the launch of Edits, a new video editing app designed to revolutionize content creation for its users. Scheduled for release on March 13, 2025, the app aims to establish itself as a formidable competitor to TikTok’s CapCut, which has been dominating the creator ecosystem.
Adam Mosseri, Instagram’s head, introduced Edits in a video announcement, underscoring Instagram’s commitment to empowering creators amidst increasing competition and growing uncertainties around ByteDance-owned platforms, The Hindu reported.
“There’s a lot going on right now, but no matter what happens, it’s our job to provide the best possible tools for creators,” Mosseri stated. He described Edits as more than just a video editing tool—a comprehensive suite of features designed to provide professional-grade resources for creators of all levels.
