Jio Studios has launched the music of its much-anticipated Marathi film, ‘Sangeet Manapmaan’, a work inspired by Krishnaji Prabhakar Khadilkar’s 113-year-old classic play.
Set to release on January 10, 2025 and helmed by actor-director Subodh Bhave, the movie promises to be a cinematic masterpiece, continuing the legacy of celebrated Marathi musicals like ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusli’ and ‘Ani…Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar’.
The launch event on November 28 in Mumbai was nothing short of spectacular, featuring live performances that blended iconic songs from the original play with fresh compositions crafted for the film. The event celebrated the timeless charm of Marathi musical theatre, enthralling the audience with its rich cultural essence, ANI reported.
At the heart of the film’s appeal is its extraordinary soundtrack. Composed by the legendary trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music features 14 mesmerizing songs brought to life by an ensemble of 18 acclaimed vocalists. The lineup includes stalwarts like Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Mahesh Kale, Bela Shende, Rahul Deshpande, and Priyanka Barve, among others. With seven National Award-winning singers lending their voices, the music is poised to strike a chord with audiences worldwide.
Jyoti Deshpande, President of Media & Content Business at Reliance Industries Limited, expressed her pride in the project, stating, “Sangeet Manapmaan is a tribute to the art of Marathi musical theatre. Its universal appeal and soul-stirring music will resonate far beyond Maharashtra, uniting audiences with its celebration of India’s cultural richness.”
