Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has expressed her immense happiness over the success of her film ‘Article 370‘, which has garnered significant recognition at the ongoing 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Yami attended the festival for the screening of the film and shared her thoughts on its success.
Speaking about her decision to take on a serious film like ‘Article 370‘, Yami recalled the doubts and questions that surrounded the film’s unique approach. “It was not a very popular kind of film, and with it came many questions and suggestions like, ‘Are you sure? Will the audience like this film? Will it connect?’ There are no songs in it. It is a serious film and based on a documentary,” she said. However, she and the team were confident that if the film was well-made, with a strong story and performances, it would resonate with audiences.
‘Article 370‘ has emerged as one of the most important films of the year, with Yami’s performance being widely praised by critics. Reflecting on her choice to be part of the project, she noted, “I think if you work in this direction consistently, the audience, filmmakers, writers, and producers understand that you can do comedy, political thrillers, and drama as well.”
On a personal note, Yami spoke about the increasing demands of her professional life and how she balances work with personal commitments. “Actually, I am busier than before, and I am ready to balance my personal and professional life. It is a big change, but change does not happen overnight. It requires sacrifice, constant hard work, and support from a lot of people. We should celebrate it, and I am happy to be a part of cinema at this time,” she added.
