The hit Japanese animated film ‘The First Slam Dunk’, which dominated the Japanese box office in 2023, is set to stream on Netflix in 75 countries beginning August 25.
The film, which first premiered on Netflix in Japan on June 10, adds to the platform’s expanding anime library, joining titles like ‘Suzume’ and Studio Ghibli films, PTI reported.
Directed and written by Takehiko Inoue, the creator of the original ‘Slam Dunk’ manga, the film captures the intense final game that had never been animated before.
The ‘First Slam Dunk ‘has garnered critical acclaim across Asia, winning prestigious accolades such as the Japan Academy Prize for Best Animation. Fans worldwide will soon have the opportunity to experience this basketball drama firsthand through Netflix’s global release.
