Viacom18, the official broadcast and digital partner for Paris 2024, is set to deliver an unprecedented and immersive viewing experience for the Olympics, starting July 26, 2024.
The network has announced its campaign film ‘Dum Laga Ke… Haisha’ promises a unique Olympics presentation across the Sports18 Network and JioCinema, which will be available for free.
For the first time, Olympics coverage in India will be presented through 20 concurrent feeds on JioCinema. These feeds will include 17 sports-wise feeds and three curated feeds, all in 4K quality. The curated feeds will feature an India-specific feed available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, capturing the on-ground action of the Indian contingent.
A Women Athletes feed will exclusively showcase the journeys of female Olympians, while the Global Action feed in English and Hindi will track the finest athletes from around the world. Linear platforms will also carry extensive coverage, with Sports18 – 1, Sports18 – 1 HD, Sports18 – 2 focusing on the Indian feed, and Sports18 – 3 dedicated to global action.
Special Coverage Features:
- Opening Ceremony: A dedicated camera feed on the India float will provide viewers with an up-close view of the Indian contingent.
- Live Interviews: Viewers will witness Indian medal moments alongside live interviews with athletes’ family members and domain experts from the studio.
- Olympian Experts: A stellar lineup of Olympians will enhance the viewing experience, including Sakshi Malik, Vijender Singh, Sania Mirza, Somdev Devvarman, and Murali Sreeshankar.
Siddharth Sharma, Sports Head of Content at Viacom18, emphasized the innovative approach, stating, “Our presentation of Paris 2024 is built on the idea of putting viewers front and center as our athletes aim for glory. For the first time in India, an Olympics presentation will have a dedicated Indian feed, a women athletes feed, and a global action feed, giving fans high autonomy with a lean-in experience as they follow the Games.”
The campaign film ‘Dum Laga Ke… Haisha!’ builds on the transformative power of sports, depicting the Olympic spirit and inspiring everyday Indians to push themselves like athletes. Shagun Seda, JioCinema’s Head of Brand and Creative Marketing, explained, “We wanted to keep the campaign idea rooted in the transformative power of viewing sports.
