Apple TV+ has announced the renewal of its comedy series ‘Palm Royale,’ starring Kristen Wiig, for a second season. The decision comes just a month after the conclusion of the show’s 10-episode debut season.
Set in 1969 Palm Beach, ‘Palm Royale’ follows Maxine Simmons, played by Wiig, as she strives to infiltrate the elite high society of the era. The series, created by Abe Sylvia (known for ‘Dead to Me’ and ‘Nurse Jackie’), also features a stellar cast including Allison Janney, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, and Kaia Gerber, with Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett in recurring roles.
“Palm Royale has delighted global audiences, and we are thrilled that viewers will have the opportunity to spend more time with this highly entertaining, iconic cast,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, in a statement. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience the next brilliantly witty chapter in the lives of the Palm Beach high society set.”
Laura Dern expressed her excitement about the renewal, stating, “Jayme [Lemons] and I with Jaywalker Pictures have been dreaming up this project for so long in hopes that audiences would have delicious fun with the radical ride that is the world of Palm Royale. We all can’t wait to get started.”
‘Palm Royale’ is produced by Apple Studios and boasts a strong lineup of executive producers including Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Abe Sylvia, Jayme Lemons, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Tate Taylor, John Norris, Sharr White, Sheri Holman, and Boat Rocker.
The series is part of Apple TV+‘s growing comedy roster, which includes popular titles like ‘Shrinking,’ ‘Loot,’ ‘The Big Door Prize,’ ‘Acapulco,’ and ‘Platonic.’
The renewal signifies Apple TV+‘s confidence in ‘Palm Royale’ and its commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging content to its subscribers.
Fans of the show can look forward to another season of humor, drama, and the vibrant world of Palm Beach’s high society.
