Renowned actors Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah are set to clash in the Indian adaptation of the popular German series ‘Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut.’
The action-crime series, simply titled ‘Bad Cop,’ has been adapted by Rensil D’Silva and will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Aditya Datt, this series marks Fremantle’s first foray into fictional series production in India, IANS reported.
In ‘Bad Cop,’ Gulshan Devaiah portrays Karan, a determined and intense police officer on a relentless mission to apprehend Kazbe, a notorious criminal mastermind played by Anurag Kashyap. This thrilling cat-and-mouse chase promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Reflecting on his challenging role, Anurag Kashyap commented, “I have created a lot of characters that are gore, quirky, dark, and many more things but believe it or not it was difficult for me to be one. Kazbe is someone who doesn’t think too much before doing anything, he just does it. He is a dreadful, eccentric, nefarious and a quintessential villain. I had to bite into the intricacies of this character and make it my own.”
Gulshan Devaiah, who previously portrayed a police officer in the crime series ‘Dahaad,’ expressed his enthusiasm for his new role. “I am excited because it’s a different kind of role for me. I played a different cop in another show as Devilal, but here it’s more like a massy-entertaining kind of cop.”
‘Bad Cop’ is set to bring a fresh and intense storyline to Indian audiences, blending high-octane action with complex character dynamics.
Viewers can look forward to an electrifying performance from both Kashyap and Devaiah when the series premieres on Disney+ Hotstar.
