In a bold move, former Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay, who recently joined the BJP, launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during an exclusive interview with ABP Ananda.
Calling her ‘completely corrupt,’ Gangopadhyay accused her of compromising primary education. The retired justice outlined the BJP’s vision for Bengal, promising an end to atrocities against women, eradication of corruption, ‘cut money’ practices, and fostering industrial growth.
According to a press release, ABP Ananda had earlier reported on March 3, 2024, about Gangopadhyay’s decision to resign from the judiciary and enter politics.
The interview, conducted by ABP Ananda‘s Senior Vice President Mr. Suman De, delved into the details of Gangopadhyay’s transition from a High Court judge to a political figure.
This exclusive interview, coming on the heels of Gangopadhyay’s resignation on March 5th and BJP joining on March 7, has sparked nationwide interest. During the interview, the retired justice addressed a range of tough questions, providing insights into his motivations and the BJP’s plans for West Bengal.
Notably, this is not the first time Gangopadhyay has spoken to ABP Ananda. On September 18, 2022, while still serving as a judge, he granted an unprecedented interview to the network. ABP Network, known for its credibility in the media landscape, reaches 535 million individuals in India through its multi-language news channels.
The network also boasts ABP Studios, responsible for creating original content outside of the news domain.
