According to WhatsApp, a new native app for Mac has just been released. Users of the app will be able to hold audio and video calls with up to 32 people and up to eight participants respectively.
On his Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg published a message announcing the app’s release. The app can be downloaded by users from the WhatsApp website. According to the business, the macOS client will soon be accessible through the Apple App Store.
You can complete more tasks faster when using WhatsApp on a large screen thanks to the redesign of the app, which makes it familiar to Mac users. You can now quickly drag and drop files into a chat and share them, and you can view more of your chat history, according to a blog post from the Meta-owned app, IANS reported.
For some time now, WhatsApp has been testing its Mac-native client. The app was initially made available in public beta by the company earlier this year, enabling users to test it out on devices running Apple Silicon and macOS 11 Big Sur or later.
WhatsApp unveiled a new Windows client with comparable group calling features in March.
WhatsApp first made its desktop apps available in 2016, but due to changes in desktop computer architecture, it has updated its clients. WhatsApp began testing the ability to link multiple devices to a single account in 2021, enabling users to receive messages on any of the four devices even when their phone is not connected to the internet.
