Denise Gough from ‘Andor’ and Holliday Grainger from ‘Strike’ have joined the cast of the upcoming British series ‘Playdate’.
According to PTI, the psychological drama show is produced by Disney+ and is based on Alex Dahl’s best-selling novel of the same name.
Ambika Mod, an Indian-origin British actor, will appear in the series alongside Jim Sturgess, Bronagh Waugh, and Michael Workeye.
‘Playdate’ follows Elsie, whose life is turned upside down when her young daughter Lucia is abducted during a sleepover. “Who is the mysterious woman who kidnapped Lucia, and what does she know about Elisa?” read the series’ official plotline, which is currently in production in the UK and France.
Catherine Moulton wrote the screenplay based on Dahl’s novel. Eva Husson is the show’s director.
The project is produced by James Dean, with executive producers Nicola Shindler, Tanya Seghatchian, John Woodward, and Johanna Devereaux joining Dahl, Moulton and Hu
