The goal is to foster partnerships between the government, academia, and startups to enable the manufacturing of IT hardware such as laptops, servers, and tablets.
The government aims to achieve a $300 billion electronics industry and a $1 trillion digital economy by 2026.
In May, the government approved the production-linked incentive (PLI) 2.0 scheme for IT hardware, with an increased budget of Rs 17,000 crore, IANS reported.
This scheme is expected to generate significant investment, production, and job opportunities in the sector.
