Prime Video’s mystery series ‘Young Sherlock’ has been renewed for a second season, even as all eight episodes of its first season are now streaming on the platform.
The series is directed by filmmaker Guy Ritchie and explores the early life of the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes.
According to an Amazon news yesterday,’Young Sherlock’ follows a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, before he becomes the famous detective of Baker Street. Set in 1870s Oxford.
The story begins when Sherlock is drawn into a murder investigation that soon uncovers a much larger conspiracy and changes the course of his life.
The series also stars Dónal Finn as a young James Moriarty, along with Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth. Guy Ritchie directed the first two episodes of Season 1 and will return to direct the opening episode of Season 2.
Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the creative team has given a fresh and exciting take on Sherlock Holmes’ early years.
He added that the company is looking forward to continuing Sherlock’s journey in the new season.All eight episodes of ‘Young Sherlock’ are available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.
