The upcoming historical drama ‘The Nightingale’, starring sisters Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning, will now release in theatres on March 19, 2027.
According to a PTI report, the film’s release date has been changed several times. It was earlier planned for a 2026 release, before being moved to February 12, 2027, and later shifted to March 19, 2027.
Directed by Michael Morris, known for ‘To Leslie’, the film is based on Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel ‘The Nightingale’. Set during World War II, the movie tells the story of two sisters and their struggles during the Nazi occupation of France.
The story follows Vianne and Isabelle Mauriac, who are separated by circumstances but face the same challenges during the war. As they fight to survive, protect their families and stand against the Nazi forces, they make difficult choices that test their courage and strength.
The film highlights themes of family, sacrifice, bravery and survival during one of the toughest times in history. It shows how two sisters deal with war in their own ways while trying to overcome the challenges around them.
‘The Nightingale’ marks a special on-screen reunion for real-life sisters Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning, who play the lead roles. With its emotional story and historical setting, the film is one of the much-awaited releases of 2027.
