‘3 Body Problem’, the sci-fi series from David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and Alexander Woo, claimed the top spot on the English TV list with 15.6 million views and was the most-watched title last week on Netflix.
The show was also the most talked about, thanks to a worldwide ‘You Are Bugs’ takeover, and that buzzed about scene in episode 5, Netflix said in a statement on April 3.
Making their list debuts were the docudrama ‘Testament: The Story of Moses’ in second place (13.5 mn views), Season 2 of reality series ‘Buying Beverly Hills’ in eighth place (1.9 mn views), and stand-up special ‘Dave Attell: Hot Cross Buns’ in 10th spot (1.5 mn views).
It was a crime wave in the third and fourth spots with ‘The Gentlemen’, Guy Ritchie’s aristocratic gangster series, clocking 7.8 million views and docuseries ‘Homicide: New York’, racking up 4.7 million views. Animated kids series had a strong showing on the list, with Season 9 of ‘Gabby’s Dollhouse’ claiming sixth place (2.3 million views), ‘Bad Dinosaurs’ taking seventh spot (2 million views), and ‘Hot Wheels Let’s Race’ skidding into ninth place (1.9 million views).
‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ spent its sixth week on the list in fifth place with 7.8 million views, the Netflix statement added.
South African action thriller ‘Heart of the Hunter’ shot to #1 on the English Films List with 11 million views. Leading ladies returned for another strong week on the list. Lindsay Lohan’s romantic comedy ‘Irish Wish’ left fans breathless at #2 (10.5 mn views). Millie Bobby Brown’s action fantasy ‘Damsel’ was crowned #3 (10.3 mn views). And, Regina King’s ‘Shirley’, which tells the story of Shirley Chisholm and her trailblazing US presidential run, campaigned its way to #6 position (4.1 mn views).
Elsewhere, the animated film ‘The Casagrandes Movie’ held firm at #5 with 4.3 million views. Gritty thriller ‘The Wages of Fear’ (France) debuted atop the Non-English Films List with 11 million views.
Other new list entrants included the quirky comedy ‘No Pressure’ (Poland) in second place with 9.5 million views and the heartfelt drama ‘Rest In Peace’ (Argentina) in fourth place with 9.5 million views.
