Bangla ZEE5 has announced that its upcoming original action thriller ‘Taarkata’ will premiere on the platform on June 12. Ahead of the release, the cast and creators of the series came together to unveil its signature track, ‘Bheshe Jaai’, offering audiences a glimpse into the emotional and atmospheric world of the show.

The announcement was made during a special event attended by the cast and crew members of the series. The newly launched song is designed to capture the emotional essence of ‘Taarkata’, complementing the suspense-filled narrative that blends mystery, action, dark humour and psychological drama.

Penned and composed by Soumit Deb, ‘Bheshe Jaai’ has been produced by Kuntal De, who has also handled the guitar, arrangements and programming for the track. The song features vocals by Koushik Chakraborty and Kuntal De, while the mixing and mastering have been carried out by GJ Storm.

Directed by Shamik Roy Choudhury, ‘Taarkata’ follows the story of Agni, a former police officer who returns to his hometown to investigate a mysterious death. What begins as a routine inquiry soon turns into a deeply personal journey as Agni is forced to confront unresolved memories and secrets from his past. As the investigation unfolds, the series promises a mix of suspense, action and psychological intrigue.

The thriller boasts an ensemble cast led by Vikram Chatterjee, who plays the role of Agni. Priyanka Sarkar stars as Chhanda, while actor and television host Meiyang Chang makes his debut in a Bengali project as Dodo. The cast also includes Joydip Mukherjee as Ashok Chowdhury, Satyam Bhattacharya as Bumba Bagchi and Ayush Das as Tintin, supported by a strong ensemble of performers.

The series also marks an important milestone for Vikram Chatterjee, as ‘Taarkata’ becomes the first production venture under his banner, Vikram Chatterjee Films.
