ZEE5 Global has announced the digital premiere of its upcoming family comedy-drama ‘Ashakal Aayiram’, which is set to stream on the platform from April 17, bringing a heartfelt story of relationships and emotions to audiences worldwide.
The film, directed by G. Prajith and written by Jude Anthany Joseph and Aravind Rajendran, is produced by Gokulam Gopalan and Krishnamoorthy under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The film features Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram in lead roles, supported by Asha Sharath, Sharaf U Dheen, and Ishaani Krishna.
At its core, ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ explores the evolving relationship between a father and son, capturing the emotional layers of their bond—ranging from conflicts and misunderstandings to shared aspirations and eventual reconciliation. The narrative unfolds through moments of humour and realism, reflecting the nuances of everyday family life and the unspoken emotions that often define such relationships.
Speaking about the film, Jayaram said that the story resonates closely with real life, portraying the father-son relationship with honesty and warmth. He added that the film’s arrival on ZEE5 would allow families to experience it together, enhancing its emotional connect.
Kalidas Jayaram echoed similar sentiments, noting that the film touches upon everyday emotions such as expectations, silence, frustration, and understanding. He also highlighted the personal significance of sharing screen space with his father in a story centred on such a relationship, calling the experience particularly meaningful.
With its relatable theme and family-oriented storytelling, ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ aims to strike a chord with viewers across generations, reinforcing ZEE5 Global’s focus on delivering emotionally engaging and culturally rooted content to its audiences.
