ZEE5 Global, the leading streaming platform for South Asian content across more than 190 countries, has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming Tamil original series ‘Veduvan’, which is set to premiere on October 10. The much-awaited trailer has heightened curiosity after the earlier title announcement, offering a glimpse into an intense mix of emotion, betrayal, and high-stakes drama.
According to a MoneyControl report, the series features actor Kanna Ravi in the lead role, supported by Sanjeev Venkat, Sravnitha Srikanth, Ramya Ramakrishna, and Rekha Nair. Written and directed by Pavan and produced by Sreenidhi Sagar of RiseEast, the series also features music by Vibin Bhaskar.
The story follows Sooraj (Kanna Ravi), a struggling actor who secures the role of Encounter Specialist Arun in a biopic. What begins as a chance to revive his dwindling career soon takes an unexpected turn as Sooraj finds himself drawn into Arun’s turbulent world of secrets, dangerous missions, and moral dilemmas. As the line between reel and real begins to blur, the series explores the collision of love, duty, and redemption.
Speaking about the role, Kanna Ravi described ‘Veduvan’ as a journey into the blurred space between performance and reality. “Playing Sooraj meant not only stepping into the life of a struggling actor, but also living through Arun’s battles, his choices, and his sacrifices. It’s a story about how far people go for duty, for love, and for redemption. As an actor, it challenged me in ways that left a mark far beyond the screen,” he said.
Lloyd C Xavier, Tamil and Malayalam ZEE5 Business Head and Sr. VP South Marketing Head, said the series continues ZEE5’s mission to bring bold and emotionally resonant storytelling to Tamil audiences. “What makes this series unique is the blend of strong performances, an emotionally layered narrative, and a visual scale that elevates it beyond conventional drama,” he noted, adding that the story’s themes of choices and consequences would resonate deeply with viewers.
Director Pavan Kumar underlined his vision for the series as one that captures both intimacy and universality. “Every character is crafted with shades of grey, and every decision they make comes at a cost. I wanted to create a series that doesn’t just entertain but also provokes reflection, leaving viewers questioning what they themselves would do in such circumstances,” he said.
‘Veduvan’, with its dark, emotional narrative and layered characters, is set to premiere on October 10, exclusively on ZEE5 Global.
