Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE) has announced the elevation of Siju Prabhakaran as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of its digital entertainment platform, ZEE5.
In this new role, Siju will spearhead the platform’s business strategy in India and across global markets, with a mandate to strengthen consumer engagement and drive growth in the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem. He will report to Amit Goenka, President – Digital Business & Platforms, International Linear Business, Enterprise Technology and Broadcast Operations & Engineering, The Hindu reported.
With nearly two decades of experience at ZEE, Siju has been instrumental in building and consolidating the South cluster of linear television channels, which have consistently contributed to the company’s broadcast growth.
He has also played a key role in designing localized content strategies for both linear and digital platforms, particularly in regional markets such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. These efforts have helped deepen audience connect and expand the network’s footprint.
In his new capacity, Siju will leverage his diverse expertise in language markets to further integrate ZEE’s linear and digital businesses. The focus will be on delivering a seamless and engaging content experience by bringing together technology, regional strengths, and storytelling. Additionally, he will chart out a robust monetization roadmap for ZEE5, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth in line with the company’s broader strategic priorities.
ZEE has emphasized that the appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening its digital presence at a time when the entertainment industry is witnessing unprecedented shifts in consumer behaviour. With ZEE5 already positioned as a key growth driver, the company aims to consolidate its leadership through a sharper focus on frugality, optimization, and quality content.
The company said that Siju’s appointment underlines its philosophy of nurturing homegrown talent and empowering leaders to build a stronger foundation for the future.
