Zee Cinemalu is gearing up to give its viewers a thought-provoking story when it airs the world television debut of The Great Indian Kitchen on April 14 at 12 p.m.
The Great Indian Kitchen’s plot centers around the life of a newly married woman, played by Aishwarya Rajesh, who receives the surprise of her life after moving into her husband’s home.
Aishwarya Rajesh’s character, a simple yet modern and educated woman, tries to fit into a traditional married life but quickly finds that she is expected to undertake all home chores alone, while her husband and other male family members kick back and rest.
As the film progresses, the woman realizes the level of tyranny she experiences after marrying into a traditional household, as well as how patriarchy is strongly established in Indian society. The rest of the story is about how she realizes this is not the life she wants and what happens next.
The Great Indian Kitchen, a thought-provoking film directed by R. Kannan and starring a superb group of performers, will undoubtedly take you on an emotional rollercoaster. Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran, the film’s lead actors, also give strong performances that bring the plot to life. In reality, the outstanding film includes an exceptional ensemble and a captivating plot that will make a lasting effect on its viewers’ brains.
