Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd has strengthened its senior leadership with the appointment of Sandeep Mehrotra as Chief Operating Officer – Advertisement Revenue, a move aimed at sharpening the company’s monetisation strategy across linear and digital platforms. The appointment will take effect from February 3, 2026.
The development was disclosed by the company in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges and through an official press release issued on February 2, 2026.
Zee informed that Mehrotra will be designated as Senior Management Personnel and will be based at the company’s Mumbai headquarters, reporting directly to CEO Punit Goenka.
In his new role, Mehrotra will be responsible for maximising Zee’s advertisement revenue potential by leveraging the convergence between its broadcast and digital businesses.
The company said the appointment aligns with its broader ambition to build a robust and future-ready monetisation engine, especially at a time when consumption patterns are rapidly evolving and platform boundaries are increasingly blurred. Laxmi Shetty will continue to head the advertisement revenue vertical as Head – Advertisement Revenue, Broadcast & Digital, and will work closely with Mehrotra to further scale revenues.
Commenting on the appointment in the press release, Punit Goenka said the evolving entertainment landscape demands outcome-driven and platform-agnostic monetisation strategies. He added that Mehrotra’s deep understanding of the advertiser ecosystem and his experience in building integrated revenue frameworks across linear and digital segments would be critical in driving sustainable and diversified growth for the company.
Mehrotra brings over three decades of experience in revenue leadership, with a strong track record in managing large-scale P&Ls, multi-portfolio monetisation and enterprise growth across consumer-facing businesses. Over the years, he has led sales transformations, built high-performance teams and developed scalable, client-centric commercial models. Prior to joining Zee, he was associated with Culver Max Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., formerly Sony Pictures Networks India, where he served as Head of Advertisement Sales – Network Channels.
Speaking on his appointment, Mehrotra said he was pleased to join Zee at a pivotal phase as the company strengthens its monetisation capabilities for the future. He noted that Zee’s strong presence across both linear and digital platforms presents a significant opportunity to deepen advertiser engagement and build an integrated, scalable advertisement revenue ecosystem.
With this appointment, Zee continues to reinforce its leadership bench as it sharpens focus on revenue growth and long-term value creation in a converging media landscape.
