Yash Raj Films (YRF), one of India’s most iconic production houses, has launched the YRF Script Cell, a new platform aimed at discovering and nurturing screenwriting talent from across the world.
The initiative, announced on Wednesday, allows writers to submit their story ideas directly to the studio. According to a press release, selected concepts may be developed into full-fledged screenplays for future Hindi films under the YRF banner. The studio, known for delivering some of Indian cinema’s most celebrated titles such as ‘Chandni’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and most recently ‘Saiyaara’, is looking to create a structured pipeline for fresh storytelling voices.
Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to being content-forward in an evolving entertainment landscape. “The YRF Script Cell is designed to provide aspiring screenwriters with direct access to our studio, making it possible for new and diverse ideas to find a place in our future productions,” he said.
The move is expected to strengthen YRF’s creative ecosystem by tapping into untold stories and perspectives from across the globe, while also providing aspiring writers with an opportunity to collaborate with one of India’s most influential film studios.
