The popular mystery thriller franchise ‘Kahaani’ is set to return with its third installment, with actor Yami Gautam reportedly taking on the lead role. Director Sujoy Ghosh, who helmed the first two films, is also expected to return for the new chapter.

According to a UNI report yesterday, ‘Kahaani 3’ is currently in the pre-production stage. The makers are working on the script and finalising the shooting schedule.

The report suggests that the film will feature a completely new story while retaining the suspense and mystery that made the ‘Kahaani’ franchise popular. Yami Gautam is expected to play a strong central character in the film.

The first two ‘Kahaani’ films, starring Vidya Balan, received critical acclaim for their gripping narratives, emotional depth and powerful female-led performances. With Sujoy Ghosh returning as director, the third installment is expected to continue the franchise’s signature blend of mystery and suspense while introducing a fresh storyline.
