The trailer for the much-anticipated second season of Netflix’s gothic hit ‘Wednesday’ has finally dropped, setting the stage for a new chapter of eerie adventures, twisted mysteries, and a looming danger that threatens Nevermore Academy once again. Starring Jenna Ortega as the delightfully deadpan Wednesday Addams, Season 2 is set to premiere globally on August 6, 2025.
As per an ANI report, the upcoming season picks up with Wednesday on a chilling mission to save her werewolf roommate, Enid Sinclair (played by Emma Myers), from an impending doom. The trailer hints at dark magic, cryptic visions, and a sinister force that may be closer to Wednesday than she imagines — all wrapped in the show’s signature blend of gothic aesthetic and sharp humour.
The show is created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who return as showrunners and executive producers. Visionary filmmaker Tim Burton, who directed episodes of the first season, also returns as executive producer, alongside a team that includes Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Tommy Harper, Karen Richards, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman, Gail Berman and Meredith Averill. Directors Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson will helm episodes this season.
In line with the show’s global success, Netflix has launched an international promotional campaign titled the “Doom Tour,” which will take cast members and creators across the U.S., England, Poland, Italy, France, Romania, Canada, South Korea and Australia. The campaign aims to build momentum ahead of the show’s return while embracing Wednesday’s cult-like fandom that has flourished since its debut.
Wednesday became a cultural phenomenon upon its first release, breaking viewership records and inspiring viral TikTok trends, fan art, and a resurgence in gothic fashion. With its mix of horror, mystery, and coming-of-age drama, the series quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched English-language series ever.
The new trailer teases higher stakes and deeper emotional arcs, all while staying true to Wednesday’s unflinching wit and macabre charm. With returning favourites and a fresh set of eerie twists, Season 2 looks set to dive even deeper into the shadows.
