Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta‘s iconic film ‘Veer Zaara’ is set to return to theaters on September 13, nearly two decades after its original release. Directed by Yash Chopra, this 2004 romantic drama became a superhit at the box office, touching millions of hearts with its timeless love story and memorable songs.
In ‘Veer Zaara’, Shah Rukh Khan portrays Veer, an Indian Air Force officer who falls in love with Zaara, the daughter of a Pakistani politician, played by Preity Zinta. The narrative follows the lovers’ journey across borders, with their love story reaching a resolution after 22 years through the efforts of a Pakistani lawyer, portrayed by Rani Mukherjee.
The film’s supporting cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Divya Dutta, Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Kirron Kher, and Anupam Kher. Its immensely popular songs, ‘Do Pal Ruka’ and ‘Tere Liye,’ remain all-time favorites among fans.
Produced by Aditya Chopra on a budget of Rs 23 crores, ‘Veer Zaara’ was declared a superhit, earning Rs 41.86 crores at the Indian box office and achieving a worldwide collection of Rs 97.64 crores. The re-release will allow both new and old fans to relive the magic of this beloved classic.
