In a candid discussion on Prime Video’s reality series, ‘Follow Kar Lo Yaar’, internet sensation and actress Uorfi Javed opened up about her personal style and vision for a potential fashion line inspired by Hindi film characters. The series, which showcases Uorfi’s unfiltered journey in the entertainment industry, has resonated with audiences for its authentic portrayal of her resilience and individuality.
During a conversation with ‘Maitri: Female First Collective’, an initiative by Prime Video aimed at creating a supportive environment for women in entertainment, Uorfi emphasized the importance of self-expression in fashion. She stated, “Thinking that a particular type of clothes fits a particular body type is really outdated. Likewise, the idea that a particular color suits a particular skin tone is also very outdated. Just wear whatever you want. As long as you are confident, that’s all that matters.”
When asked about her inspiration for a film-inspired fashion line, Uorfi revealed her admiration for Vidya Balan’s character Silk from ‘The Dirty Picture’. “Silk from The Dirty Picture. She is such a contrast from Vidya Balan’s real-life persona. Actually, maybe a mix of both, Silk and Vidya,” she noted, highlighting the intriguing juxtaposition of character and actor.
‘Follow Kar Lo Yaar’ is produced by Sol Productions, led by Fazila Allana and Kamna Menezes, and directed by Sandeep Kukreja. The show is currently streaming exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
