Nearly a decade after ‘The Night Manager’ first captivated audiences across the globe, Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his iconic role as Jonathan Pine in the much-anticipated second season of the Prime Video series.
Returning to a world steeped in intrigue and moral ambiguity, the new season takes Pine deeper into the shadows of international espionage, unfolding a darker and more expansive narrative that stretches from London to Colombia, the Prime Video said in a press release.
Set years after the events of the first season, ‘The Night Manager’ S2 moves into uncharted territory, with no sequel novel from John le Carré to draw from. Instead, the series is driven by creator, writer, and executive producer David Farr’s original vision. Hiddleston has spoken highly of Farr’s achievement, calling it a rare feat to extend the story with the same sophistication and narrative depth that defined the original. He noted that Farr’s scripts retain the complexity, precision, and moral tension associated with le Carré’s work, describing the new season as thrilling, emotionally charged, and deeply rooted in themes of guilt, truth, and personal redemption.
Hiddleston was equally generous in his praise for the new cast members joining the series, singling out Diego Calva and Camila Morrone as standout performers. Calling them “extraordinary actors,” he said both brought an added dimension to their characters that went beyond the written page. Speaking about Calva’s role as Teddy Dos Santos, Hiddleston described the character as initially ruthless and intimidating, yet layered with vulnerability beneath the surface. He credited Calva with delivering a performance that is both powerful and sensitive, making him a compelling counterpoint to Jonathan Pine.
On Camila Morrone’s portrayal of Roxana Bolaños, Hiddleston highlighted her instinctive approach and magnetic screen presence. He noted that Morrone brings a fiery, unpredictable energy to the role, throwing herself completely into the character and giving Roxana an emotional intensity that leaves a lasting impact.
Based on characters created by John le Carré, ‘The Night Manager’ S2 is created and executive produced by David Farr and directed by BAFTA winner Georgi Banks-Davies. Stephen Garrett returns as lead executive producer, with a long list of returning and new executive producers, including Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, and Hiddleston himself. The season also sees the return of familiar faces such as Olivia Colman, Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe, alongside new additions including Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, and Hayley Squires.
‘The Night Manager’ S2 will premiere with its first three episodes on January 11, 2026. New episodes will release every Sunday, leading up to the season finale on February 1, streaming exclusively on Prime Video worldwide.
