Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan’s gritty crime series ‘MobLand’ has officially been renewed for a second season, following an immensely successful first run that has catapulted the show into the top ranks of original programming on Paramount+. The announcement comes just weeks after the Season 1 finale aired on June 1.
As per a report by ANI, ‘MobLand’ premiered on the streaming platform in March and has since become a breakout hit. Paramount revealed that the pilot episode alone attracted an estimated 26 million viewers globally within its first 70 days, making it the second most-watched original series on Paramount+—trailing only behind Taylor Sheridan’s Landman. The viewership metric is calculated based on global watch time divided by the show’s total runtime.
Set in the gritty underworld of London, ‘MobLand’ follows the powerful and dangerous Harrigan crime family and their fiercely loyal enforcer Harry Da Souza, portrayed by Tom Hardy. The show combines raw storytelling with complex power dynamics, as the Harrigans fight to retain their dominance amid rising threats from both law enforcement and rival factions.
The series also marks a highly anticipated reunion between Tom Hardy and director Guy Ritchie, who last worked together on the 2008 cult crime film RocknRolla. Speaking about the collaboration, Hardy told ANI, “I love Guy Ritchie. I’ve wanted to work with him for ages since I did RocknRolla. So it was brilliant to be able to get back to work with him and have a bit more meat on the bone.”
The ensemble cast includes Pierce Brosnan, who brings gravitas to the patriarchal role within the Harrigan family, and Helen Mirren, whose layered performance has added emotional depth to the high-stakes narrative. With a compelling mix of veteran actors and high-octane storytelling, ‘MobLand’ has struck a chord with global audiences and critics alike.
With Season 2 now confirmed, expectations are sky-high for what lies ahead in the Harrigan saga. Fans can look forward to more ruthless power plays, betrayals, and confrontations as Hardy’s Da Souza continues navigating the brutal corridors of London’s criminal elite.
