Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif expressed gratitude to fans as their Diwali release, ‘Tiger 3,’ storms the global box office, amassing a whopping Rs 240 crore in just three days.
The Maneesh Sharma-directed film, released on Sunday, garnered Rs 180.50 crore (gross) in India and Rs 59.50 crore (gross) overseas, totaling Rs 240 crore globally, as confirmed by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
Salman Khan, thrilled with the audience’s response, hailed the franchise’s success, stating, “‘Tiger’ holds a special place in my heart. Witnessing its growing popularity with each installment is truly special. I hope the film continues to enthrall audiences worldwide.”
Katrina Kaif echoed the sentiment, reveling in the enthusiastic audience response across the country, describing their joyous reactions in theaters during the festive season as a significant moment. She expressed pride in the ‘Tiger’ franchise, emphasizing the enduring impact it has on audiences.
‘Tiger 3,’ also featuring Emraan Hashmi, released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, marking the biggest opening weekend for both the franchise and its lead stars, Salman and Katrina, according to YRF.
Set in the aftermath of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan,’ the film follows Salman’s spy character in a race against time to safeguard his family and nation.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Tiger 3’ marks the fifth installment in the YRF spy universe, succeeding ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ ‘War,’ and ‘Pathaan.’
