The hit legal drama has officially been renewed for a second season, much to the delight of its growing audience. The announcement comes just days after the series aired its Season 1 finale on USA Network, which has been home to the show since its debut earlier this year.
According to a PTI report, Season 2 of ‘The Rainmaker’ is set to premiere in 2026. The series, which comes from Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television, is based on John Grisham’s bestselling novel of the same name. USA Network revealed that the show’s first nine episodes have averaged 1.3 million viewers across all platforms, making it one of the network’s strongest recent performers.
Announcing the renewal, Val Boreland, President of Entertainment at Versant, said, “The verdict is in — ‘The Rainmaker’ is returning for Season Two on USA Network. Along with our brilliant showrunner Michael Seitzman and our partners at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, we’re thrilled to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama for our viewers.”
The ensemble cast includes Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, Lana Parrilla, Madison Iseman, P.J. Byrne, Dan Fogler, Wade Briggs, and Robyn Cara. The series follows Rudy Baylor (played by Callaghan), a fresh law school graduate who finds himself pitted against the formidable courtroom attorney Leo Drummond (Slattery), as well as his law school girlfriend, Sarah (Iseman).
As per the show’s official logline, Rudy, along with his boss Bruiser (Parrilla) and her unkempt paralegal Deck (Byrne), uncovers two interlinked conspiracies involving the mysterious death of their client’s son. Packed with courtroom intrigue, emotional depth, and corporate corruption, the first season of The Rainmaker has struck a chord with audiences and critics alike.
With its renewal confirmed, viewers can look forward to another intense season filled with twists, courtroom drama, and high-stakes battles when The Rainmaker returns in 2026 on USA Network.
