Prime Video’s latest global weekly rankings put ‘The Love Hypothesis’ at the top of its most-watched Prime Original films, while ‘Neagley’ led the series chart for the week of September 28 to October 4.
The week’s rankings also underline the international breadth of Prime Video’s Original slate: France’s ‘You+Me – Against the World’ was the most-watched non-English Original film, while Mexico’s ‘The Trial’ (‘El Juicio’) topped the non-English Original series list.
In a statement earlier this week, Amazon said the rankings are based on the total number of worldwide Prime Video accounts that watched a title during the Monday-to-Sunday period.
In the overall film rankings, ‘The Love Hypothesis’ took the No. 1 spot, followed by France’s ‘You+Me – Against the World’ and Spain’s ‘Drawn Together’ (‘Enfrentados: Marfil’). The rest of the top 10 comprised ‘The Last Sunrise’ at No. 4, ‘The Runner’ at No. 5, ‘Livestream From Hell’ at No. 6, ‘Project Hail Mary’ at No. 7, ‘Masters of the Universe’ at No. 8, ‘The Get Out’ at No. 9 and ‘A Working Man’ at No. 10.
The series chart was led by ‘Neagley’, followed by ‘Reacher’ and ‘Off Campus’. ‘Sterling Point’ was fourth, while Mexico’s ‘The Trial’ (‘El Juicio’) ranked fifth.
India’s ‘Dupahiya’ was sixth, ahead of the UK’s ‘The Grand Tour’ at No. 7. South Korea’s ‘A Love Other Than Yours’, Spain’s ‘Red Queen’ (‘Reina Roja’) and ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ completed the top 10.
The non-English film rankings showed a particularly strong presence from Spanish-language Originals.
France’s ‘You+Me – Against the World’ led the category, followed by Spain’s ‘Drawn Together’. Spain also placed ‘Culpa Mia’, ‘Culpa Nuestra’ and ‘Culpa Tuya’ from third to fifth. India had two entries in the list, with ‘Don’t Be Shy’ at No. 6 and ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ at No. 8.
Spain’s ‘Agent Zeta’ and ‘Boulevard’ occupied seventh and ninth places, while ‘Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End’ (‘Apocalipsis Z: El principio del fin’) was tenth.
The non-English series chart was headed by Mexico’s ‘The Trial’ (‘El Juicio’), with India’s ‘Dupahiya’ at No. 2 and South Korea’s ‘A Love Other Than Yours’ at No. 3. Spain’s ‘Red Queen’ (‘Reina Roja’) followed at No. 4, while India’s ‘Rise and Fall’ took fifth place.
Italy’s ‘R.I.P. – Roast in Peace’, Germany’s ‘Maxton Hall—The World Between Us’(‘Maxton Hall—Die Welt Zwischen Uns’), Chile’s ‘Cathedrals’ (‘
Amazon said the rankings cover Prime Original films and series watched worldwide and are distinct from the rankings customers see within the Prime Video app, which reflect a shorter time period and country-specific viewing data.
For series, the ranking is based on the total number of Prime Video accounts that watched any available season of a series. Amazon also positions Prime Video as a single entertainment destination offering thousands of films, series and other programming across dozens of genres, accessible through thousands of devices.
