In a significant move that could reshape Bengali non-fiction entertainment, Swarnava Sinha (Payel) has been appointed as Senior Producer – Non-Fiction at Sun Bangla. Her return marks a dynamic comeback to content creation, following an impactful strategic stint with Star Jalsha where she played a key role in crafting brand narratives across both fiction and non-fiction formats.

Sinha’s appointment is seen as a strategic turning point in Sun Bangla’s non-fiction evolution. With an impressive track record and a flair for creative experimentation, her return to the non-fiction space is expected to inject a fresh wave of innovation, genre-bending storytelling, and editorial sharpness into the channel’s programming slate.

Speaking about her return, Sinha shared, “You can leave the genre, but if it runs in your blood, it calls you back. Non-fiction is where raw truth meets creative risk. And this comeback isn’t just about returning — it’s about rewriting the rules.” Her words resonate strongly, especially as Sun Bangla is currently enjoying notable success with formats like Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh and Praner Utsab.

Sinha’s journey has been marked by a unique blend of creative vision and strategic execution. As Executive Producer at Akash Aath, she delivered acclaimed shows such as ‘Good Morning Akash’, ‘The Legends’, and ‘Gaanpoint’, setting a strong foundation for her storytelling craft. Her move to Star Jalsha broadened her repertoire with contributions to high-impact formats like ‘Dance Dance Junior’, ‘Super Singer’, ‘Geeta LL.B’, ‘Tomader Rani’, and ‘Meybela’, gaining her industry-wide recognition for versatility and innovation.

Beyond television, her experience spans digital campaigns, celebrity management, and original event IPs — positioning her as a rare hybrid talent in the Bengali GEC space. With Sinha at the helm of non-fiction, Sun Bangla is aiming to deepen audience engagement while pushing the creative boundaries of regional programming.

As the channel gears up to introduce a refreshed lineup of non-fiction content, Sinha’s leadership is poised to deliver programming that’s not just entertaining but also deeply resonant, disruptive, and culturally anchored — a powerful mix in today’s competitive content landscape.

With this move, Sun Bangla signals its intent to not only lead in ratings but also to shape the future of Bengal’s non-fiction narrative through bold, truth-driven storytelling.
