Pune’s fandom community is set for another exciting weekend as Maruti Suzuki presents Pune Comic Con, powered by Crunchyroll, returns to the city on February 6–7, 2027. The event will take place at Messe Global Laxmi Lawns, bringing together fans for a celebration of pop culture, gaming, anime, cosplay and entertainment.
Comic Con India is looking to welcome the spring season with a weekend of pop-culture experiences, bringing the city’s growing fandom community together once again.
According to a Comic Con India press release, Pune has emerged as a key destination for entertainment, with its vibrant student community, young IT professionals and rich cultural legacy. The city’s appreciation for art, music and literature, alongside its growing interest in new-age entertainment, has also helped it carve out a strong space for Comic Con and its ever-growing pop-culture fandom
Speaking about the event, Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, said, “Pune has a character that is distinctly its own, from the heritage streets of Shaniwar Peth and the cultural hub of Deccan to the bustling FC Road and the creative pockets of Aundh and Viman Nagar. The city’s love for Marathi theatre, literature, cinema and art reflects a cultural identity that is deeply rooted yet constantly evolving. This blend of local character and global influences makes Pune an exciting destination for Comic Con. We look forward to bringing the city’s fandom community together for a weekend of creativity, self-expression and everything they love about pop culture.”
Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming, said Pune’s young audience has a strong appetite for gaming, music and experiences that bring people together. He highlighted the city’s cultural diversity, from the historic charm of Shaniwar Wada to the bustling cafes of Koregaon Park, and its growing gaming and esports communities.
“From the legacy of NH7 Weekender to its growing gaming and esports communities, Pune has always had a way of bringing people together through shared passions. And much like its love for misal pav and bhakarwadi, the city’s love for its interests runs deep. Comic Con brings these passions under one roof, giving fans a space to celebrate their favourite stories, discover new worlds and connect with people who love the same things they do,” Rathee said.
Cosplay has grown significantly over the years in Pune, with a new generation of young fans embracing the art of bringing their favourite characters to life through creativity and performance. Comic Con provides a platform for aspiring and experienced cosplayers to showcase their skills, express their creativity and receive appreciation from a community that shares their passion. Fans can look forward to elaborate costumes, character showcases and opportunities to connect with fellow cosplayers.
Comic Con, a subsidiary of NODWIN Gaming, will also bring together collectibles, exclusive merchandise, new art collections and offerings from independent artists and creators, giving visitors plenty to discover and take home.
The previous edition of Pune Comic Con drew over 25,000 fans with an immersive pop-culture experience featuring blockbuster-themed installations, anime experiences, racing simulators and gaming zones. This year, fans can look forward to even more, with dedicated gaming and VR zones, interactive brand experiences, creator interactions, live music performances, stand-up comedy and much more.
With a mix of entertainment, creativity and fandom experiences, Pune Comic Con 2027 promises a weekend where fans can celebrate their favourite stories, discover new interests and connect with like-minded communities.
