Prime Video, India’s premier entertainment platform, has announced the exclusive world premiere of its eagerly awaited original movie, ‘Superboys of Malegaon’, at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will be showcased on September 13, 2024, during the festival, which runs from September 5 to 15, 2024.
Set in Malegaon, a small town in Maharashtra, India, and inspired by real events, ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ features a stellar ensemble cast including Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora.
The film is an Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby production, executive-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Farhan Akhtar. It is directed by Reema Kagti and written by Varun Grover.
The movie is based on the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from Malegaon. In a town where Bollywood cinema offers a much-needed escape from daily life, Nasir, driven by his passion, rallies his friends to create a film for and by the people of Malegaon. ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ is a poignant yet uplifting story that explores the intersection of filmmaking and friendship.
