Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the departure of Sandeep Mehrotra, Head of Ad Sales – Network Channels, who will be stepping down from his role due to personal reasons. The company confirmed the development in an official statement released yesterday.
Mehrotra, a respected figure in the media and advertising industry, played a pivotal role in reshaping SPNI’s sales strategies over the years. Under his leadership, the ad sales division witnessed key structural shifts, created robust revenue pipelines, and forged impactful strategic partnerships across SPNI’s portfolio of channels.
Reflecting on his decision, Sandeep Mehrotra said, “After careful consideration, I’ve decided to step down due to personal reasons. It has been a rewarding journey building a strong team, achieving key milestones, and fostering lasting industry relationships. I’m grateful to have contributed to SPNI’s growth and to be part of a culture driven by ambition, collaboration, and integrity.”
During his tenure, Mehrotra helped navigate SPNI through changing consumer patterns, advertiser demands, and the evolution of content consumption habits. His leadership was marked by innovation in sales strategies and adapting the network’s ad revenue model to match the rapidly transforming media environment.
Acknowledging his contribution, Gaurav Banerjee, MD and CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “After a successful tenure leading Sales for our Network Channels, we sincerely thank Sandeep for his invaluable contributions, steadfast commitment, and the positive energy he brought to the organization and our client partners. We respect his decision and wish him all the best.”
While SPNI has not yet announced a successor, the network is expected to initiate an internal or external search to fill the role.
Sandeep Mehrotra’s exit marks the end of a notable chapter at SPNI, where he was widely credited with enhancing advertiser confidence, elevating team performance, and integrating data-led solutions into network sales operations.
