Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the appointment of Sibaji Biswas as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), set to assume his role in January 2025.
Sibaji will oversee SPNI’s financial strategy, corporate finance, and operational planning, aimed at driving growth across its multi-channel and digital platforms, the network said in a press statement.
With over 20 years of financial leadership experience, Sibaji joins SPNI following a successful tenure as CFO and Executive Director at Syngene International, a Biocon Group company, where he led significant growth and operational efficiencies. Under his leadership, Syngene’s revenues doubled, and its market cap nearly tripled over five years, while he spearheaded transformative supply chain and digital optimization initiatives.
Sibaji’s previous career highlights include a 12-year period at Vodafone, where he held roles such as CFO of Vodafone Romania, EVP of Corporate Development, and Head of Procurement. He also led key corporate finance strategies at Hutchison India, contributing to the company’s expansion.
Welcoming Sibaji to the SPNI leadership team, Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director & CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India, commented, “Sibaji’s financial acumen and strategic insight will be instrumental as we enhance operational efficiency and navigate SPNI’s next phase of growth. His background in managing complex financial ecosystems aligns well with our vision to strengthen our brand and enrich the viewer experience.”
