Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has secured the exclusive television and digital media rights for India’s upcoming tour of Ireland in 2026, further strengthening its cricket portfolio and expanding its roster of premium live sports properties.
Under the agreement, the two-match T20 International series will be broadcast exclusively on Sony Sports Network and streamed on Sony LIV, giving Indian cricket fans comprehensive access to Team India’s campaign in Ireland.
The acquisition adds another international cricket property to SPNI’s growing sports offering and reinforces the broadcaster’s commitment to delivering year-round cricket content to audiences across India.
The Ireland tour is expected to feature a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talent. The Indian squad, led by Shreyas Iyer with Tilak Varma serving as vice-captain, includes players such as Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna and batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Viewers can expect extensive coverage of the series, including expert analysis, multilingual commentary and enhanced viewing experiences across both television and digital platforms.
Commenting on the acquisition, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head – Sports and International at SPNI, said the deal reflects the network’s continued focus on bringing premium cricket content to fans throughout the year.
“Indian cricket continues to unite and inspire millions of fans, and we are delighted to bring this exciting Ireland tour exclusively to viewers across Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV. This acquisition reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality cricket content throughout the year and further strengthens our position as a premier destination for live sports,” Kaul said.
Sarah Keane, CEO of Cricket Ireland, welcomed the partnership, noting the strong audience interest generated by India’s previous visit to Ireland in 2022.
“We are delighted that SPNI will bring this exciting series into millions of homes across India. When we hosted India Men in 2022, the broadcast became the most-watched sporting event ever staged in Ireland. We hope this year’s series can match or even surpass that success, while showcasing the strength of Irish cricket and the outstanding setting of Stormont in Northern Ireland to a global audience,” Keane said.
The acquisition further bolsters SPNI’s sports portfolio and underscores its strategy of expanding access to international cricket properties. Fans will be able to watch every match of India’s Ireland tour live and exclusively on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV.
