Sony Sports Network is gearing up to broadcast the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup from December 12 to 21, 2025, live from Dubai, strengthening its youth cricket programming at a time when interest in junior-level competitions continues to surge across India. The telecast builds on the momentum of the Asia Cup Rising Star 2025, which significantly expanded the audience base for emerging cricketers.
According to a press release, the 2025 edition of the Asia Cup Rising Stars drew 30.4 million unique viewers—nearly five times more than the previous year—while India’s matches alone rated three times higher. This rising engagement signals a broader shift in audience attention toward developmental cricket beyond the senior national teams and sets the stage for the upcoming tournament featuring eight teams: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal and UAE.
Team India enters the event with Ayush Mhatre leading the squad and Vihaan Malhotra serving as vice-captain. The side is positioned in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE and Malaysia. Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal. With matches being played in Dubai, the tournament promises competitive clashes and an opportunity for fans to track next-generation talent. Among them is Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has drawn attention following his performance with India A teammates and is expected to be a key attraction for viewers.
Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said the network is committed to spotlighting rising cricket talent and expanding its youth cricket portfolio. “Building on the excitement of the Asia Cup Rising Star 2025, we’re thrilled to bring fans the exclusive telecast of the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 from Dubai. This tournament is a showcase for Asia’s future cricket stars, including India’s prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre,” he said. Kaul added that with strong teams such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka competing alongside emerging sides like Nepal and UAE, the platform serves to nurture the next generation of cricketing talent for Indian audiences.
The tournament begins on December 12 with India taking on UAE at 10.30 am. Matches will be telecast across the Sony Sports Ten channels, with coverage continuing through the group stage, semi-finals on December 19, and the final on December 21.
