Sony LIV has unveiled the official trailer of ‘Maharani 4’, the next chapter in its acclaimed political drama headlined by Huma Qureshi.
The upcoming season promises an explosive storyline filled with political intrigue, personal rivalries, and the high-stakes game of power that defines Rani Bharti’s world.
Directed by Puneet Prakash and produced by Kangra Talkies Pvt. Ltd., the series is created by Subhash Kapoor and features an ensemble cast including Shweta Basu Prasad, Vipin Sharma, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Shardul Bhardwaj, Kani Kusruti and Pramod Pathak.
Adding fresh energy to the new season, ‘Maharani 4’ introduces Rajeshwari Sachdev and Taare Zameen Par fame Darsheel Safary in pivotal roles.
Speaking about her role, Sachdev said, “‘Maharani’ isn’t just a show, it’s a powerful narrative that reflects the pulse of politics and power. Joining this world, especially with a character that plays such a crucial role in the unfolding drama, is incredibly thrilling. The writing is bold, the stakes are high, and I can’t wait for the audience to witness the storm my character brings to Rani Bharti’s world.”
Darsheel Safary, who makes a major return to screens, described his role as a transformative one. “It’s a turning point. This season dives deeper into the chaos of power, and my character walks straight into the eye of that storm. Expect the unexpected, because nothing stays the same,” he shared.
The ‘Maharani’ series has gained a strong fan base for its depiction of political realism and character depth. The first season traced Rani Bharti’s (played by Qureshi) journey from a homemaker to a decisive political leader, loosely inspired by events in Bihar during the 1990s when Lalu Prasad Yadav made his wife Rabri Devi his successor.
The new season starts streaming from November 7.
