Amazon Prime Video India has announced the appointment of Sonal Kabi as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Kabi’s appointment marks a significant step in bolstering the platform’s marketing strategy as it continues to expand its footprint in the Indian streaming market.
Kabi, who shared the news on her LinkedIn profile, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Prior to joining Amazon Prime Video India, she served as the Director of Marketing at Netflix for the past year. Reflecting on her time at Netflix, Kabi noted, ” My one year at Netflix was nothing short of incredible, leading campaigns for The Railway Men, Chamkila, Heeramandi and The Great Indian Kapil Show, among others. Kabi’s career is distinguished by her extensive experience in the media and marketing sectors. She previously spent nearly six years at Amazon India, where she held several key roles, including Lead – Originals at Amazon Prime, Head of Title Marketing at Amazon Prime Video, and Head of Marketing at Amazon miniTV. Her deep familiarity with Amazon’s ecosystem and her strategic insights will be valuable assets in her new role.
Before her tenure at Amazon, Kabi worked with notable organizations such as Shuttl, McDonald’s, Star TV Network, Leo Burnett, and Lowe and Partners Worldwide. Her diverse background spans various facets of marketing and media, reflecting her versatility and expertise.
An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management (XIM Bhubaneswar) and Modern High School, Kolkata, Kabi is well-regarded for her strategic acumen and innovative approach to marketing.
In her new role as Chief Marketing Officer at Amazon Prime Video India, Kabi is expected to drive impactful marketing strategies and campaigns, further enhancing the platform’s engagement with audiences across the country.
