Shemaroo Entertainment is set to premiere its new original web series ‘Dil Dhokha aur Desire’ this Valentine’s season, marking another step forward in its original content journey.
The series will stream exclusively on ShemarooMe from February 12, 2026, and features Akanksha Chamola, Kunwar Amar and Ali Hasan in the lead roles. With this launch, the company continues to strengthen its OTT platform in an increasingly competitive digital space.
According to a press release, the new show reflects ShemarooMe’s evolving content strategy, which is gradually shifting from aggregation to the creation of distinctive, platform-led original stories. ‘Dil Dhokha aur Desire’ is positioned not as a standalone title, but as part of a broader effort to build original intellectual property that connects with contemporary audiences and encourages deeper engagement.
Arriving during Valentine’s week, the series moves away from conventional romance to explore darker, more complex emotions. Blending romance with power dynamics and moral conflict, the story examines how desire can blur boundaries, test loyalty and turn love into a dangerous game. It follows the intertwined lives of Malini, played by Akanksha Chamola, Shuarya, portrayed by Kunwar Amar, and Pratap, played by Ali Hasan. As their paths cross, the narrative unfolds into a volatile triangle of attraction, control and betrayal, where every decision comes at a cost.
The series also delves into themes of vulnerability and emotional conflict, presenting love as both a force of redemption and destruction. With its focus on layered characters and intense storytelling, ‘Dil Dhokha aur Desire’ aligns with ShemarooMe’s aim of offering differentiated content to viewers looking for emotionally charged narratives.
Commenting on the launch, Saurabh Srivastava, Chief Operating Officer, Digital Business at Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd., said that original content allows the platform to define its voice with greater clarity. He noted that such titles help shape viewing behaviour, drive repeat engagement, sharpen audience profiling and build long-term brand recall, while reinforcing ShemarooMe’s position within the OTT ecosystem.
With a strong ensemble cast and a high-emotion storyline, ‘Dil Dhokha aur Desire’ is expected to attract significant audience interest during the Valentine’s season. The series will stream exclusively on ShemarooMe from February 12, 2026, setting the tone for a growing slate of original content planned by the platform in the months ahead.
