Red FM, a premier private radio and entertainment network, has announced the highly anticipated Season 5 of the Marathi Film Festival, known for its cinematic extravaganza, will aim to captivate audiences from March 8 to 10 in Pune.
Themed ‘Charcha Tar Honarch’ (Going Gaga Over It), this year’s three-day celebration will showcase a remarkable lineup of 25 films, including 15 feature films, 10 short films, and 3 premieres. Renowned actor Dr Mohan Agashe is set to receive a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to Indian cinema, the company said in a press release.
The festival kicks off with the screening of Jayant Somalkar’s ‘Sthal’, a film that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and secured the NETPAC award. Other highlights include popular titles such as ‘Baipan Bhari Deva’, ‘Zhimma 2’, ‘Ekda Kay Zhala’, and ‘Panchak’, and documentaries like ‘Against the Tide’ and ‘Zende’.
Aankhi Ek Mohenjo Daro, directed by national award-winning film critic Ashok Rane, will have its world premiere at the event alongside Kurla Te Vengurla and Dharmasya. Mahesh Kothare will grace the festival with his presence during the special screening of Dhoom Dhadaka.
