Actor and host Rajeev Khandelwal shared a deeply personal and emotional moment on ‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’, as he opened up about his bond with his mother while preparing tea for the contestants on the show.
According to an SET press note, the moment unfolded during a candid interaction where Rajeev reflected on his childhood and the small yet meaningful memories that shaped him. Recalling how he first learned to make tea, he said, “Mujhe chai banana mummy ne sikhaya,” before adding a heartfelt detail about his upbringing, “Main apni maa ki beti tha. Hum teen bhai hain lekin beti main tha,” a remark that brought a warm smile as well as emotion to the moment.
He went on to share how, on quiet Sunday mornings, he would often ask his mother if he could make chai for her. “Kabhi kabhi Sunday wale din main mummy se pooch liya karta tha ki mummy main chai banaun? Mummy muskurake bolti thi ki jaa bana le,” he recalled, describing a simple routine that now holds deeper emotional significance.
Reflecting on those memories, Rajeev admitted that he now understands the emotional value behind those gestures. “Aur main jaanta hoon ab ki uss samay mummy ki thakawat shayad mere iss poochne par se hi khatam ho jaati ho,” he said, highlighting how small acts of care often carry unspoken love and comfort.
Carrying that sentiment forward, Rajeev chose to recreate that feeling on the show by preparing tea for the contestants, many of whom have travelled long distances to be part of the journey. He shared that he wanted to ease their fatigue with the same warmth his mother had once shown him, turning the act into a quiet tribute.
The moment stood out as more than just a gesture on stage, transforming the atmosphere into something intimate and reflective, where memories, gratitude, and affection took centre stage.
‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal, airs Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on Sony LIV.
