KableOne, a Punjabi OTT platform, has recently launched on the JioStore. Backed by Seven Colors Broadcasting and prominent Punjabi film production house Saga Studios, KableOne was initially made available on various platforms, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Firestick, and CloudOS, about a month ago.
Diljit Singh, Senior Vice President of Unisys Info Solutions Pvt Ltd, announced the news on his LinkedIn account, stating, “Delighted to share that KableOne, a VoD and Linear TV platform focused on the Punjabi language, developed by Modern Streaming Solutions, is now available on Jio Store.”
KableOne offers a diverse range of content, including on-demand movies, live channels, and radio. Its library features notable films such as ‘Ardas Karan’, ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’, ‘Manje Bistre’, ‘Warning’, and ‘Cheta Singh’. The platform aims to share Punjabi stories with a global audience, with CEO Simranjeet Singh expressing confidence in the vision behind the platform, “Punjab and its stories are definitely the next big thing.”
The platform has partnered with Mumbai-based production houses like Shalimar Productions for upcoming films, including Constable ‘Harjeet Kaur’. The much-anticipated film ‘Do Dooni Panj’ is set to release on September 27, with other titles like ‘Warning’ and ‘Cheta Singh’slated for early October. To cater to non-Punjabi viewers, the films come with English subtitles.
