Prime Video’s original movie ‘The Mehta Boys’ made a grand debut at the 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) with an exclusive world premiere on Opening Night.
The film, which marks Boman Irani’s directorial debut, received a standing ovation from the packed audience, captivated by its heartfelt narrative and standout performances.
The premiere was attended by a stellar cast and crew, including actor-writer-director Boman Irani, Oscar-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris, actors Avinash Tiwary and Shreya Chaudhry, producer Danesh Irani, and executive producer Ankita Batra.
Irani’s directorial finesse was met with enthusiasm, and the film garnered praise for its authentic depiction of a father-son relationship, striking a chord with viewers by highlighting generational gaps and differing perspectives, all wrapped in humor and sentiment.
Produced by Irani Movietone LLP and Chalkboard Entertainment LLP, The Mehta Boys explores the turbulent relationship between a father and son, who are forced to spend 48 hours together. The film dives deep into the nuances of this bond, presenting a relatable yet complex dynamic between the two.
Boman Irani, along with Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar, produced the film. The exploration of emotional vulnerability, generational conflicts, and reconciliation made The Mehta Boys a standout at the festival.
The film is expected to release on Prime Video soon, streaming in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide.
